PEOPLE BEHIND OUR WORK

Our team

Meet the people leading Civicom Aid's work in Kenya and Uganda

They believe real change starts with the community itself.

Our team meets people right where they live and work. You will find them on farms and at farmer hubs, at business sites and workshops, in youth centers, schools, and homes. Trust grows one project at a time. And that trust is what makes change last.

Our approach

We believe change works best when it starts with the people it affects. So we do not arrive with fixed plans. We sit down with community members first. We listen. We ask what they need and what they hope for. Then we build the plan together.

This is why every project we run is community-designed, community-led, and community-owned. Local leaders and community members help shape each project from day one to the end. They take part in decisions, not just in the work. Every project is designed by the community. Every project is led by the community. Every project belongs to the community. This partnership builds skills that last well beyond any single project.

How we include marginalized communities

We make space at the table for people who are often left out — women, youth, people with disabilities, refugees, and families in hard-to-reach areas. We remove barriers that keep them from joining, like meeting times, meeting locations, or language. Everyone's voice shapes the outcome.

The results

When people lead their own change, that change tends to stick. Farmers earn more from their harvests. Young people start businesses or find steady work. Families send their children to school and keep them there. Knowledge is shared with generations and neighbors. Trust grows between neighbors and with our team. Step by step, communities build a future they choose for themselves.
