Mombasa Small Businesses Hub
Civicom Aid’s projects are community-designed, community-led, and community-owned by ultra-poor families in Likoni, Moroto, and Bangladesh slum regions in Mombasa, Kenya. Many rely on microbusinesses, yet limited skills, scarce resources, and climate change increase vulnerability. Through coaching, capital, and social support, a small businesse creates at least five sustainable jobs and strengthens long-term self-reliance.

Many households in Mombasa slum regions, Kenya, depend on small businesses for survival but lack business skills, productive capital, and social support.
As a result, many businesses fail early, keeping families in ultra-poverty, school dropout, and malnutrition. COVID-19 and climate change have further reduced income opportunities.
Civicom Aid supports vulnerable entrepreneurs through practical business training, productive capital, mentorship, and peer support networks.
The project aims to support at least 150 small businesses each year to survive, grow, and improve household resilience.
Supported businesses can create at least five new jobs, helping families reduce school dropout, overcome extreme poverty, and build long-term self-reliance.
