Zero Malaria Drive

Our team, along with community members, combats the spread of malaria in hard-to-reach rural villages of Africa by spotting and mapping mosquito habitats, killing mosquito larvae, and distributing mosquito nets.

Spotting & Mapping Mosquito Habitats

Our team, along with community members, identifies and maps mosquito breeding sites and locations. The empowered community members individually contribute to mapping mosquitosites. This data is then shared with stakeholders, partners, and ministry of education.

Distributing Mosquito Nets

When the mosquito larvae were not identified and grown into adults, our team, volunteers, and rural community residents in hard-to-reach villages in Africa collaborate to prevent the spread of malaria by distributing mosquito-treated nets. These nets effectively hinder body contact with malaria-causing mosquitoes, reducing the risk of transmission.

Killing Mosquito Larvae

Our team and community members collaborate to eliminate mosquito larvae in mapped breeding sites by spraying and removing water-filled containers. Empowered individuals in the community personally participate in larval control efforts.

Fistula Healthcare

We promote healthcare in hard-to-reach rural villages of Africa through Fistula Community Outreach, Fistula Prevention Services, and Fistula Treatment Services.

Fistula Community Outreach

Our outreach team proactively engages rural communities to raise awareness about the dangers of obstetric fistula disease, its causes, and preventive measures.
Through door-to-door outreach, open-air meetings, and screening camps, we ensure widespread access to information and promptly identifying patients in need in rural, hard-to-reach villages in Africa.
The majority of women have been living with obstetric fistula for over ten years, leading to worsening conditions and even fatalities, exacerbated by lack of awareness among affected women.

Fistula Treatment Services

Identified patients are invited to receive obstetric treatment at the hospital the following day, with Civicom Aid covering all costs for lab tests, X-rays, treatments, check-ups, and post-operative care. We ensure that patients receive comprehensive care until they are fully recovered.

The story of Purity Kanini

Purity Kanini, a proud mother and wife, has happily lived in rural Kwale county for 10 years. During this time, she cherished moments with her family and community. When she fell ill with an unknown disease, she sought help from local clinics, but treatment was ineffective. Unbeknownst to her, the disease she was suffering from could be treated at a hospital in the coastal region. After enduring the worsening symptoms for five years, Purity’s husband abandoned her and their children, seeking to start a new family elsewhere. Four years later, while searching for her husband, Purity found him in Likoni slums in Mombasa. Though they reunited briefly, he soon left her alone in a rental room. During this time, our outreach team met Purity during their door-to-door visits and informed her about available medical assistance. Eager to improve her health, she agreed to attend medication sessions. Upon being invited to our office, preparations for her treatment commenced. Following successful treatment and improved health, Purity’s husband returned, and the family was reunited. It’s worth noting that worsening obstetric fistula often leads to family separations in rural villages. We express our gratitude to Ariba Kamran, a remote intern, for swiftly fundraising within a day to cover Purity’s medical expenses, ultimately saving her life. We welcome students, organizations, individuals, companies, schools, and agencies to support our efforts in funding/fundraising for obstetric fistula medication in rural, hard-to-reach villages.
