Sustainable Farming

Civicom Aid empowers family farmers to fight poverty and food insecurity at their own homes by tackling root issues, including setting up water points, field schools, and tree planting in remote areas.

Fund - Support Farmer Water Point

In Turkana’s arid regions, the lack of reliable water sources hinders year-round crop production, leading to malnutrition, food insecurity, and economic challenges for family farmers. Civicom’s solution is to establish 50 water points for drip irrigation, benefiting 50 families, each with 10+ members. This enables year-round crop cultivation, reduces hunger, improves nutrition, generates income from surplus crops, enhances food security, and alleviates poverty. Solar panels power pumps and lighting, aiding students’ nighttime study. We actively seek partners to support this initiative with grants and/or material(s), creating much-needed water points in this region.

Convincing pastoralists to grow crops
Fund - Support Farmer Field School

Many family farmers lack essential knowledge and skills for successful crop cultivation, negatively impacting their food security and income. Civicom establishes farmer field schools to provide comprehensive training, from land preparation and pest control to marketing and climate-resilient techniques. This results in improved crop yields, enhanced food security, reduced losses, better market access, and increased income. We are actively seeking partners who can provide grants and/or training material to help establish one or more of these field schools.

Fund - Support Farmer Climate Adaptation

In Kwale’s rural and arid regions, environmental degradation from deforestation and climate change impacts agriculture. Resource limitations and slow tree planting progress worsen the situation. Civicom empowers farmers with climate-smart techniques, emphasizing carbon sequestration through tree planting. Our goal is to plant 2 million trees by 2035, and we seek support from individuals and organizations to purchase or donate tree seedlings. Community and partner involvement accelerates tree planting, combats environmental degradation, and mitigates climate change. We actively invite individuals and corporate partners to join us in this tree-planting effort.

Health Care

Civicom Aid greatly enhances the well-being of underserved communities by improving healthcare in remote areas, with a focus on maternal healthcare, fistula care, and a malaria eradication program.

Providing education
Fund - Maternal Healthcare

In remote areas, high maternal and child mortality rates result from limited healthcare access and communication challenges during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods. Civicom’s Maternal Healthcare initiative educates birth attendants in Birth Champion Groups, providing support, referrals, and communication solutions. The initiative strives for safer childbirth, increased child survival, and improved maternal and child healthcare in remote areas. We are inviting individuals and organizations to fund the training of one or more birth attendants.

Fund - Zero Malaria Drive

In malaria-prone Moroto and Kisumu remote regions, Civicom’s Birth Champion Groups are essential. They map and destroy mosquito breeding sites, distribute treated nets, and promote larvicide use, significantly reducing malaria cases and related deaths. We seek individuals and organizations to donate grants to purchase net(s) or donate net(s) to sustain this life-saving initiative.

fistula
Fund - Fistula Care

Remote rural and slum areas in Mombasa lack proper fistula healthcare services, resulting in social stigma, isolation, and high medical costs. Civicom establishes a Fistula Fund for women’s treatment, conducts outreach programs, and awareness campaigns, and collaborates with medical professionals. This initiative ensures improved healthcare access, reduced stigma, financial relief for treatment, and increased access to quality fistula medical support for affected women. We invite contributions to the Fistula Fund from individuals and organizations.

Inclusive Education program

We strive to ensure all learners can access education through building schools, Pathway Schools, Education Reentry Fund, and School Water Points.

Teaching deaf learner
Fund - Leen Special School

We invite you to support our endeavor to construct a school for deaf and mute children who currently assemble at a nearby school on Saturdays. These children often experience isolation from their families due to their disabilities. By establishing this specialized school, we aim to eliminate their isolation, facilitate access to education, and boost their self-esteem, helping them thrive. We are actively seeking grants from potential partners to make this project a reality.

Poor people in slums in kenya
Fund - Bangala Pathway School

We are tackling the challenges of youth unemployment, skill deficits, expensive computer courses, and high poverty rates by launching the Bangala Pathway School. This initiative is designed to offer young people the chance to gain life skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, computer proficiency, and access to online job opportunities. As a result, we expect to see more youth employment opportunities, affordable computer courses, and a reduction in poverty. We are actively seeking grants and computer donations.

Out of school
Fund - Beach Pathway School

We’re dedicated to tackling the issues faced by out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out, often due to financial obstacles like tuition fees and a lack of school materials. Our approach involves offering financial assistance for tuition fees and essential school materials to remove these barriers and ensure that children can continue their education uninterrupted. Through our efforts, we aim to boost school enrollment, diminish dropout rates, and foster a culture of education that empowers children for a brighter future. To accomplish this goal, we seek grants or computer donations from individuals and organizations willing to champion our cause.

Kyani Nyanza Primary School
Fund - Kyani Primary School

We are actively working to overcome the lack of classrooms and sanitation, low enrollment, high dropout rates, poor academic performance, and students studying under trees by constructing the Kyani school. Your support can help us build the necessary classroom(s) or toilet(s), thereby increasing enrollment, decreasing dropout rates, enhancing academic achievements, and creating a more suitable learning environment. We humbly request grants or construction material donations to make this project a reality.

school girls from fetching water
Fund - Kyani School Water Point

The absence of clean water compels children to make a grueling 15-kilometer journey for dirty water, resulting in waterborne illnesses, reduced school attendance, and increased dropout rates. Embrace the Kyani School water point initiative, ensuring access to clean water, mitigating health hazards, and fostering an ideal hygienic environment. Your financial support will go to drilling a borehole, buying a water tank, and solar pump, and erecting pillars, pipes, and solar panels. We request financial donations; your generosity will provide clean water to this school, profoundly transforming the lives of these children.

Home Biogas program

We assist pastoralists in converting organic waste into energy through biodigesters, enabling lighting, heating, and cooking.

Fund - Waste-to-Gas

By extending financial support, the Building Hope initiative makes it possible for families with limited resources to construct biodigesters, thereby empowering them to generate and make use of biogas within their households.
